Watch Miss Baines videos for help with today's lesson!
Watch my video below to get you started on today's Maths lesson.
Spend 20 minutes on TT rockstars. See if you can earn more coins today than you did yesterday!
Well done on practising your spellings every day this week! I bet you are masters of spelling these words by now.
Today’s activity is for you to ask a grown up to give you a short spelling test. How many did you get right? Don’t forget to e-mail your teachers with your mark out of 10 – we can’t wait to hear from you!
Using the PowerPoint below can you make a note of key words and vocabulary around Claude Monet's personal life. Start a new piece of paper from your work from yesterday and keep it safe - you will need it again next week! Make sure that you take care to spell words correctly when copying them down, and pay careful attention to using capital letters when writing names. Watch Mrs Darroch's video for help with this lesson!
Challenge! – Rather than using the PowerPoint, can you research Claude Monet using different sources? What additional information can you find about his personal life.
Complete this reading comprehension with an adult. A copy of the file can also be found below.
Challenge! Can you come up with your own questions and answers around the text. Think about the other characters in the Totally Pawsome Reading Gang and the skills that they might ask you to use. Why not test your adult by asking them your questions to see if they can use the text to come up with the correct answer!
Miss Baines is back with your second phonics session of the day. Check out her video below!
We are all using the internet more, whether we are at home or at school, so ask your grown ups to look at the following website as reminders of how to keep you safe when on-line then talk about what you would do if there was something you weren’t sure about.
Think U Know:
https://www.thinkuknow.co.uk/4_7/
Today’s learning links with the Geography you’ve been doing about the UK this week. Have a think about the facts you found out about the countries in the UK: their capital cities, their flags, the Patron Saints and maybe places of interest.
WALT: Use technology purposefully to create, organise, store, manipulate and retrieve digital content.
We would like you to log on to Purple Mash where you have a To Do task set to create a leaflet to show to someone new to our country to tell them all about it. Plan the pages of your leaflet – there are 6 pages in total. You could present information about each of the four countries in the UK on different pages, and add in pictures from the top right of the page.
Remember to save and exit the page when you have finished your work so we can see what you have done and always log out of your account so no one else can access your account. (Computer Safety)
Challenge: Why might people use a leaflet rather than a book for this? (Show to many people at the same time, put on internet, can easily change or add text, pictures).
After a busy day let's wind down with Week 1 of Jaime's Yoga Club. Enjoy.
As part of our 'Around the World in 80 days' topic we are also looking at countries beyond the UK. The next few lessons are about somebody who didn't live in the UK!
Look at the photograph below
“He’s a man who lived a long time ago and he is famous for something ….”
On a piece of paper, make some notes on the following:
I notice … (what can you see in the picture?)
I think …. (what do you think about the person, e.g. he is young/old?)
I wonder … (What questions would you like to have answered about him?)
And then Sources … (How can we find out more about the man?).
Make sure that you keep the piece of paper with your notes on safe as you will need to use them for the next few English lessons. Watch the video below for some help with this lesson!
Challenge! This is a photograph – previously we have worked from images of paintings (Mary Seacole, Guy Fawkes). What do you notice as being the same or different? Do you think the man photo is from as long ago as the other two? Explain your reasoning.
Watch the video on the White Rose website all about ‘Making Equal groups by sharing’.
Now work through the work sheet with Mrs Harrington helping you in the videos below!
Now you’ve had a go at that then why not try our challenges with Mrs Harrington in the videos below!
How many coins will you earn today? Why not challenge Mrs Ellis or Mrs Wells to a competition?!
Get warmed up by singing along to the Phase 5 phoneme song here on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPW-ZkhRUPY
