Today we are looking at equivalent fractions – fractions that are equal. Watch the first video of Mrs Darroch to see what you have to do today.
Time to get your Rockstar on! Login to TT Rockstar and challenge yourself to beat yesterday’s scores. GO!!
See how you get on with a quick spelling test today! Ask a grown up to read out your spelling words for the week and see how many you can spell independently. We would love to know your score out of 10!
Today we are looking at some Rainforest Art! Look at the picture below by a famous artist called Henri Rosseau.
Have a talk with a grown up about the following questions:
What can you see in the painting?
Which colours are used?
When was the painting made?
What kind of plants and flowers can you see in the painting?
How does the painting make you feel?
What material is used to create this painting?
Which part of the world do you think this painting shows?
For today's task I would like you to write about a short rainforest story using this painting as inspiration.
Think about the previous days English lessons and all we have learned about the Rainforest and the animals that live there. You might want to include this information in your story. You can use the senses word mat shown below to give you some ideas too!
Emerging: Work on writing in short, clear sentences that each have finger spaces between each word, a capital letter at the beginning and a full stop at the end. Plan each sentence in your head and count out the words on your fingers before you start.
Expected: Plan each of your sentences carefully before you start writing. Remember your punctuation and include adjectives to add description to your writing.
Exceeding: Write in extended sentences, joining two shorter sentences together with conjunctions such as 'and' 'so' 'because'. Use noun phrases to make your writing interesting and exciting to read!
As we have been exploring the Rainforests on our Around the World in 80 days, how about making your own rainstick to sound like being in a rainforest!
Put on this track whilst you work to feel like you’re really there!

Below are different ideas to help you, or search for more, depending on what you have available, so raid your recycling bins and let your inner Blue Peter presenter shine!
We’d love to have short video clips to hear the sound of your finished rainsticks!

Today we are going to be further exploring halving. All you will need for this are some pieces of paper. It’s not important what size, or shape it is but you will need to be able to fold it in to two parts that are equal.
