This week we have been super story writers! We started by drawing a story map of the journey adventure that the naughty bus had been on. Then we wrote sentences to go with our story maps, which will be used for a class book! (How exciting!). Today we will be creating a post card- a card which sends a message by post with a photo and a sentence of where the naughty bus is. Watch Miss Woodford’s video to help you create your post card!
Emerging Writing:
Challenge 1: Can you say and write the initial (first) sound you can hear in words for your sentence? Use your fingers to sound out the words, this will help you to hear the first sound!
Challenge 2: Can you use finger spaces and a full stop in your sentence?
Expected Writing:

Maths
Active Maths - physical activity
Today's maths is for everyone - just use the numbers you are confident with, be that up to 10 or all the way to 20.
The challenge today is to get active - you have been working so hard with those tens frames it's time to get those bodies moving and get you counting some actions. You can follow the actions we did or think of your own, do you have a swing, a slide or a trampoline - can you count actions using them? Get a grown-up to think of a number then can you do the correct number of actions - remember to do them slowly - one action for each number you say and don't forget to stop when you reach the number given!
Now join us in our Active Maths video below - see if you can spot the mistakes in Miss Sawkins' counting!

Watch and join in with Miss Woodford’s video. Today we are going to focus on the sound ‘ee’. We are going to use this sound for our challenges below!
Challenge 1- Using todays sound – ee – can you read the sentences? Can you be a sentence spy and spot todays sound? Can you read the sentences independently to a grown up?
To play this game you will need to log on to phonics play (link below) and you will need to select the digraph – ee. Username: jan21 and password: home. Link-https://www.phonicsplay.co.uk/resources/phase/3/sentences-3
Challenge 2- Using todays sound – ee – look at the pictures below, can you sound them out to a grown up? Can you use these words to write a sentence? How many ‘ee’ words can you use in a sentence? For example, the teeth are big, a bee can meet a flower. Watch Miss Woodford’s video to support this.
Writing
Today we are going to be making a story map for the Naughty Bus. We will be using what you learnt with Miss Woodford when you made your journey map to help us. You can use the Naughty Bus story, the pictures from his adventures (see last weeks remote learning) or even make up your own story for him.
There are two video clips for this teaching
Challenge 1 - Can you draw you own story map of the Naughty bus? Label the pictures on your map using your phonic knowledge to spell the words - try to do this independently.
Challenge 2 - Can you write a caption (a simple sentence) to go with the map? An example might be - The Bus was very busy.
Emerging - If you are finding this a little tricky and need a bit more practise can you share your writing with a grown up? Can you hear, say and write the initial sound in your labels and your grown up can show you how to hear, say and write the other sounds. Maybe you could have a go at the last sound as well.
e.g. bus stop or bus stop

Topic with Miss Sawkins - Road Safety
As our theme this half term is 'On the Move' we thought we would look at road safety today.
With so much traffic on the roads and families out walking for their daily exercise we just wanted to remind the children about how to keep safe near the roads.
Road safety has lots of rules and the BBC bitesize clips explains these very well.
Watch the BBC bitesize clip and follow the Espresso links below.
I wonder if you could practise crossing the road in your house. Remember to look both ways, listen carefully and hold a grown up's hand.
Can you sing along to the song to remind you how to keep safe when crossing the road - click on the bottom link below.
Can you make a road safety poster or create a lollipop lady or man on purple mash?
Purple mash set as 2Dos or search lollipop.
Road safety is very important, as they are dangerous places to be if you are not careful. We all need to practice road safety to keep us and other people safe.
Road safety education song teaching children to safely cross the road.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
