PTA - (news September 2017)
It was lovely to see the raised profile of the PTA last year at St. George’s Infant and Nursery School. Thank you to everyone who helped support fundraising events.
Every parent and staff member associated with the school is integral to the PTA and how it is run. Whether they are attending events and purchasing the items on sale, baking, letter writing to companies for donations of resources and prizes, giving up their time for man power or taking more of a leading role by organising actual events and fund raising ideas.
Last term’s summer fayre was a huge success raising £2200 profit to be split between both the infant and junior schools. We also made over £500 profit from selling tea towels. This money will be put to good use for all the children that attend school; buying resources, supporting the cost of educational visits and continuing to develop and improve areas such as the sensory garden.
If you are interested in supporting the PTA please let Mrs. Vicarey know either directly or via the office.
There is also a useful PTA/parent information page accessible for parents on Facebook. This is a closed group for which you can request to join. Search for Friends of St George’s Schools New Town Colchester.
In the past the PTA have raised a considerable amount of money and have paid for a range of things that benefit your children, for example:
Coaches for school trips
Overalls for Forest School
Equipment for Forest School
Musical instruments
Provided a free fun day at the end of the summer term
PTA require more parents to support them with this. If you can help in any way please let the school office know.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
