Home time challenges!
We will be setting home time challenges every Friday. Please complete by the following Friday to receive a dragon token! We would love to see photos and videos of your home time challenges on tapestry! Have lots of fun!

Squirrels and Hedgehogs are doing home learning at the moment but can still have a go if you would like!!
Use Purple Mash to create your own Christmas stocking or add your face to Santa Claus' body!
This week we will be focusing on the nativity story and whilst doing so we will be learning and exploring all about winter! This will include looking at signs of winter, winter animals and lots of winter activities!
Can you explore signs of winter at home? Look at the trees outside, what do you notice? How are the trees different from Autumn? Can you go on a winter walk? Discuss signs of winter with your grown up.
Home time challenge:
Can you complete the winter picture jigsaw on purple mash? You will have to look very closely at the picture to make sure to put the jigsaw pieces into the right place!
You can be very creative and even make up your own winter picture at home to go alongside the jigsaw! What colours will you use?

This week we will be focusing on the text 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' and exploring different types of bears! This will include bears that live in the woods, artic bears and also teddy bears!
Have you got a favourite teddy bear at home? Can you talk to your adult about your favourite teddy bear? What is your teddy bears name? Why is it your favourite teddy bear?
We will also be exploring similarities and differences by taking a close look at different types of bears including habitats, colours, size, diet and lots more fun and interesting bear facts!
Can you talk to a grown up about your bear? What does it look like? Can you spot any 2D or 3D shapes? You can be very creative and even make up your own bear hunt story for your teddy bear... where will your teddy bear go? What will happen?
Home time challenge:
Can you draw your favourite teddy bear using purple mash? What colours will you use? What shapes will you use?

This week we will be learning about traditional tales and we will be exploring the story of Little Red Riding Hood.
What is your favourite traditional tale? Can you share your favourite traditional story with a grown up? Can you draw a picture for the front cover of the book? You could even change the characters to make up your own version of the story!
Some traditional tales include:
- The Three Little Pigs
- The Gingerbread Man
- Hansel and Gretel
- Goldilocks and The Three Bears
We would love you to share a video of you re-telling your favourite traditional tale on tapestry!

Next week we will be taking part in nursery rhyme week!
Nursery rhyme week was developed to encourage and support the children's vocabulary, language and literacy skills, numeracy skills and social, physical and emotional skills. Therefore, we will be learning a nursery rhyme a day to support this, please see below:
Monday 16th – Wheels On The Bus
Tuesday 17th – Five Little Speckled Frogs
Wednesday 18th – Hickory Dickory Dock
Thursday 19th – Old MacDonald Had A Farm
Friday 20th – Miss Polly Had A Dolly
Can you choose your favourite nursery rhyme (this could be from the list above or another one of your favourites) and upload a video to tapestry or email of you singing along to the song? You can even get your grown ups or siblings involved too! Can you add actions to the nursery rhyme? Can you make stick puppets to use whilst singing? Can you draw a picture of your favourite nursery rhyme? Can you add labels to your picture?
Above are some nursery rhyme pictures that you can print or even copy yourself. Can you use these to create your own nursery rhyme picture?

This week we have been looking at signs of autumn. Can you create a picture to show what changes happen in autumn? Can you add natural objects to your picture that you find? Can you add labels to your picture? Alternatively, please use the 2do task on purple mash to create an autumn picture online. We can't wait to see your creations! Have fun!
Half term challenge!
This half term will be starting our new topic ‘who’s in the woods?’. To get ready for our learning journey we are setting you the challenge of exploring ‘the woods’ this half term. Have you been to woods before? What did it look like? What did you see ? Can you go on a visit to the woods with your family? We wonder what you will find! Can you collect things from the woods? Can you draw pictures of what you find? Do you know any stories that are set in the woods? Can you share a woodland story with a grown up?
We would love you to be creative with this half term’s challenge! You could create a collage of all the things that you find. You could use them to create a woodland picture. You could write a list of what you found, or write sentences to describe what it was like. Please post pictures of tapestry of the woodland adventures that you have! We can’t wait to see what you discover! Have lots of fun, get muddy and have fantastic adventures!

This week we have been learning how to find one more of numbers to 10. We have explored doing this practically with loose parts and using a number line. Can you now solve these one more number problems? You could use objects in your house to help you add one more if you need some help!

Your challenge this week is to go on a senses walk. You could do this in your home, in your garden, at the park, your local area etc! We would love you to explore all of your senses ! What can you see? What can you hear? What can you feel? What can you smell? Is there anything you can taste? Can you draw a picture of the things you have found? Can you write some labels? We would love to see photos on tapestry! Remember we will be giving dragon points for everyone who completes their home time challenge ! Have lots of fun!

This week we will be exploring our feelings! This week your challenge is to do something that makes you feel happy. It might be playing with a favourite toy, baking a cake, spending time with your family or going on your bike. Can you talk to a family member about why it makes you feel happy? Can you post a photo on tapestry? We can’t wait to see what fun you get up to!

We are so proud to have learnt the sounds SATPIN over the past two weeks! The children have loved learning the new sounds. Your challenge this weekend is to practise recognising these sounds. Can you hide the sounds around your home to find? Can you sort objects into words that begin with each sound? Can you teach your grown-up the jolly phonics songs? Can you practise blending the sounds together to read some words (e.g sat, pin, tap, tin, nap). Please share photos of your learning on tapestry! We can't wait to see them!

This week we have learnt the sounds ‘s’ ‘a’ and ‘t’. Your challenge this weekend is to have a hunt around your home, garden , local area for any objects that start with these sounds. Can you say the word to check which sound it starts with? Can you sort objects into piles of s, a and t? Can you teach your grown up the jolly phonics songs we have learnt for these sounds? Please post photos and videos on tapestry of your phonics hunt! We can’t wait to see what you can find!
