Spring 1 topic! On the move!
This term we will be learning all about vehicles and transport! We will be using 'naughty bus' as our initial hook in this topic and will explore the different adventures that the book takes us on! The children we will be learning about vehicles in the past and comparing them to vehicles now, they will design and create their own vehicles and create their own magical journeys! We are so excited to follow the children's interests during this topic and see where the exciting learning takes us! We will continue to learn new sounds and will be starting phase 3 phonics. We will be learning to spot diagraphs in words, and reading simple sentences and captions. We will explore a range of fiction and non-fiction texts to support us in our learning. In maths we will be learning how to subtract and will learn new methods to help us add!
We will be doing P.E on a Monday and a Friday. Please come to school in your P.E kit on this day and ensure hair is tied up and earrings are removed.
This term will be taking part in 'Tree Tuesday'. We will be going to our forest school area to engage in a range of learning experiences enabling the children to develop their physical, social, emotional skills alongside a range of learning in our early years curriculum. Children will need wellies and weather appropriate clothing for these sessions!
We will be changing reading books on Monday and a Friday. Please use bug club to access additional reading books matched to your child's reading band. Please visit the story-time part on the school website to listen to more stories read by members of staff!
Home time challenges will be set on a Friday. Please check our home time challenge section for more information. Please remember to engage in tapestry to communicate and share the children's amazing learning at home and school!
