ADMISSION ARRANGEMENTS
We are a three-form entry school. We can admit a total of 270 children into school (90 to each each group), with an additional 26 part-time places in our nursery setting.
The admission arrangements are in accordance with the Local Education Authority's Policy. Please visit https://www.essex.gov.uk/topic/admissions
Where children have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), schools will be allocated through the Local Authority, with consultation with the selected schools. If your child has a Special Educational Need or Disability (SEND) please refer to our SEND Information Report and SEND policy. We also advise that you contact the school to discuss your child's needs.
Children are admitted to the Nursery, on a part-time basis, the term after their third birthday. A staggered intake takes place where children are admitted to the Nursery in the first two weeks of the term on a part-time basis. Children are admitted to the Nursery based on the same criteria used for admittance to the main school. Please note: the allocation of a place in the Nursery does not automatically guarantee a place in the Reception class
Parents have the option to send their child to school in the September of the academic year in which they are 5. If parents wish they can defer this place until the following January. The number we intend to admit into school for the academic year 2020/21 is 90.
Admissions Policy
Priority will be given to those living in the area served by the school. In the event of over subscription, from that area, priority will be given to:-
In the event of any oversubscription within any of the above criteria priority will be determined by a straight line distance from home to school – those living closest being given highest priority.
All admissions to schools are co-ordinated by Essex County Council. Parents will need to apply for a place for their child by completing a Common Application Form. Go to the website at https://www.essex.gov.uk/topic/admissions This should be posted directly to parents during the December of the academic year preceding your child starting school.
