HAPPY SNOW DAY!
Yay it's snowing! Make sure you get outside today for some fun learning in the snow. Enjoy!!
Go outside and explore the snow! Think about how you might describe the snow - bring some indoors on a tray or bowl if you want to. Think about what it looks like, what it feels like, what it smells like and what it sounds like. (Remember back to our lesson all about Mud!)
Write down your ideas into 3 sentences describing the snow. Draw a picture to go with it if you like!
For a challenge read your sentences back and check you have used all the correct sounds. Can you make your sentence even better? Maybe you could add an adjective or a full stop if you haven't already.
Go outside and make 2 snowmen of different sizes! (They can be table top sized.) Once finished measure your snowmen to see how tall they are. Try to use a ruler if you have got one (to measure in centimetres). If you don’t have a ruler use cubes or Lego! Compare the heights of your snowmen, which is taller/shorter?
Choose a book to share outside in the snow with a family member from home. We would love to see photos of you reading in the snow! Could you build a chair to sit in or a reading igloo?
When you come in from the snow listen to this story all about a knight and a......dragon!
Have a go at writing some capital letters in the snow using a stick or your finger. You could write your name in the snow! Send us pictures on Tapestry : )
Emerging: Use your phase 2 and 3 sounds to write the initial and end sounds in words
Expected: Use your phase 5 sounds including split digraphs to write your list

Paint the snow using lots of bright colours and make a frame using sticks. What can you paint a picture of?
